At the beginning of the school year, teachers were provided with an Emergency Readiness Bag, a red tote hung up near the door in classrooms. The tote contains what teachers may need in case of an emergency. While at first, the bag only contained paperwork and bandaids, Mrs. Vaneenenaam-Iwanicki wanted to enhance the helpfulness of the bags and provide gear to handle more types of emergencies. Van-I’s bag contains a pair of gloves and a CPR mask, allowing for more preparedness in case of an emergency. As of now, Van-I and the district board are preparing to provide these kits for all classes throughout the Fraser District.
