Homecoming week is busy, with events every day of the week. While students are focused on the high of their dance, as well as the early release and game on the day before, they may not be as knowledgeable on what’s going on the week leading up to it.
Starting the week with a bang is the Powderpuff Game on September 25th. Tickets to get into the game are five dollars per person; Students do not need to bring their ID as the price is the same between students and non-students. Players and Cheerleaders can get into the game for free, though. For an extra ten dollars, shirts to celebrate 2023 Powderpuff will be available. In addition, facepainting and hair decorations will be accessible for students to wear at the game.
Spirit Week is also this week. From Monday, September 25th to Monday, October 2nd, a fun week full of stylish attire will grace Fraser High School.
Monday, September 25th is Adam Sandler Day. Dress in your most fun and most dad-like clothes, and add a bit of Sandler flare to your outfit. Decorated button-ups and long shorts with colorful laces, or an oversized superhero tee with some khaki shorts. Show your own Sandler Style on Monday.
Tuesday the 26th marks Biker vs. Surfer Day. Unleash your inner Teen Beach Movie fan and choose a side: a stylish, leather-clad biker with slicked-back hair and a roaring engine, or a ‘lax surfer sporting sand-filled hair and swim trunks worthy of an award. Just try not to have a big battle in the hallway.
Wednesday the 27th is Guess Who Day. Dress up as your favorite celebrity and come to school in the most red-carpet-worthy outfit you can. Guess who your classmates are and see how many you can get right in the biggest Guess Who game of the county.
On Thursday the 28th, we celebrate Theme Day Thursday. Each class will dress up according to their theme however they choose. This year’s class theme is board games; Seniors are Candy Land, Juniors are Jumanji, Sophomores are The Game of Life, and Freshmen are Monopoly.
Friday the 29th is Class Color Day. Similarly to Theme Day Thursday, students will dress in the colors of their class. Seniors are black, Juniors are red, Sophomores are green, and Freshmen are blue. Show your class spirit by wearing the most eccentric color-coded outfits you can.
After a long week, Fraser students will get their payoff on Monday, October 2nd, is Get Up and Go Day. Our first Pajama day of the year is here, and students are more than just excited about it. Wear your comfiest clothing and slippers for a day to relax. Just make sure you don’t fall asleep in class.
Friday, September 9th, is as packed as you’d expect for the day before Homecoming. Starting the fun is the Pep Assembly at 4:00 PM. Join your Fraser friends and family in the Gym after school for an exciting Assembly to show your school spirit and prepare for the upcoming game and dance.
At 6:00 PM. is the Homecoming Parade. With our school marching band accompanied by the floats made by our very own student council, attending the parade is a wonderful way to show your love for Fraser and the students who belong here.
To finish off the day is the Homecoming Football game. Join the Fraser Football team to face off against Port Huron Northern in a thrilling game to boost your school pride before Homecoming. Students can enter the game for free with their student ID and are expected to arrive at the Fraser Stadium at 7:00 PM.
