When 2016 romantic musical La La Land was released in the beginning of December,  lovers of musicals and romantic dramas praised it.

La La Land is the story of an aspiring actress and a jazz-loving pianist finding love and each other in Los Angeles. Along with the beautiful cinematography, the film was praised for it’s soundtrack.

With a remarkable score by film composer Justin Hurwitz, and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the soundtrack effectively captured millions of musical lovers. With the swift jazz influence, mixed with the bright piano sounds, the music from this movie is captivating.

The most popular song from the movie is “City of Stars.” In the film, it is the song Sebastian–the main character–wrote himself on the piano. The tune is a lovely jazz piano ballad that pulls on the heartstrings of many of the listeners. The song depicts Los Angeles, acclaimed ‘City of Stars’, and Mia–the main female character–and Sebastian’s new love interest. With its melancholy tone, it has become the most famous song from the movie.
