Girls Varsity Tennis: Fraser vs. Port Huron

Amy Weed, Co-Editor

This past Wednesday, April 29, Fraser Girls Varsity Tennis won their fifth and last MAC Blue match against Port Huron. While there was little wind to adjust to, there was baseball and a middle school track meet taking place on two sides.

Outstanding performances by: two singles Amanda Vanjaarsveld, who went 6-0 for both sets; four singles Rebecca Grammatico 6-0,6-1; three doubles Emily Solecki and Violet Rode, who went 6-1,6-0.

Overall, the girls won 7-1, making it their fifth MAC Blue win. Saturday May 2, which is the day after Fraser’s prom, they will compete in the Troy Athens tournament, going against teams both higher and lower than their division.

For becoming MAC Blue Champions, Coach Dalida bought the team pizza to eat on the way home for a job well done.

The girls are ecstatic to see their coach bring the six pizza boxes and bread onboard. They soon learned that only four of the boxes had pizza.
