Girls Varsity Tennis: Fraser vs. Stevenson

Amy Weed, Co-Editor

This past Monday, April 20, Fraser Girls Varsity Tennis won their second Mac Blue Match against Stevenson. Winds were at 15-25 mph; the temperature was not in the least bit warm, but for the girls on court, many were in skirts and t-shirts. As the teams played, the wind became less of an issue, not because the wind was dying, but because the girls learned to play with the wind and use it to their advantage.

Outstanding performances by one singles def. Noel Bielski, who fought hard and lost against hard-hitter Maja Pietrowicz (ST) (6-0,6-1); Lynn Pytell and Sarah Uddin, who won both sets (6-1,6-2); four doubles Olivia Chapman and Sierra Ellis, who went longer than any other team on court and won in a third set (6-1,6-7(2),6-0).

Overall, the girls collectively won with a score of 6-2, making their MAC Blue score 2-0-0.

Fraser now has two MAC Blue wins under their belt and two more matches this week; Wednesday April 22, Fraser vs Cousino (MAC Blue) –Home; Thursday April 23, Fraver vs St. Clair (MAC Cross over) –Away.
