Lady Ramblers Remain Undefeated in Conference Play
February 12, 2015
Friday night’s game was the Lady Rambler’s 10th victory of the year. It was also another win in conference play, this time against the Warren Mott Marauders. It was their 7th victory in conference play, they remain undefeated at 7-0 and are now all alone a top the MAC Blue.
The won this hard fought contest by a score of 46-39. They were down after the 1st quarter, 11-3, but we’re able to recover and win at home. After a horrendous quarter of shooting, the Lady Ramblers were able to put together a gorgeous 16-2 run. A strong defense was what helped to force multiple Mott turnovers and keep them from scoring for the first 7minutes of the 2nd quarter.
The second half was not much different as too many turnovers prevented the Marauders from ever taking the lead. The closest they would ever get was late in 4th quarter, but by then everyone in the  gymnasium knew the Ramblers had won this one.
Julia Stewart led Fraser in scoring with 17 points. Hallie Gordley added 12 points while center Sasha Parker had 8 points. The team shot well from beyond the arc and played good physical defense. This has been the key to nearly every win for the Lady Ramblers this year.
The Marauders had a poor offensive night, but Warren Mott will look to the turnovers as the main reason for not winning this game. If the Marauders can take care of the ball they should be able to get back on a winning track. One Marauder had a great night as Doaks Dierra finished with 21 points. This is the 2nd time she’s scored 20+ points.
As the season slowly comes down to the last few games, Coach Dave Kuppe will be looking to capture another MAC Blue title at Fraser. The Lady Ramblers will be taking on L’Anse Creuse Tuesday night at home. Game starts at 6pm in the main gym.
