Fraser Band Hitting a High Note

Fraser High School Music Department has always been phenomenal in its performances. This talent shone the last few weeks at the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association (MSBOA) District 16 Solo & Ensemble, which can consist of a single player with an accompaniment or up to an octet (group of 8 players).

The Fraser Band students who participated in this event on January 31st totaled at 59 students; 48 events received First Division ratings; 8 events received Second Division.

Along with the 59 soloists students, 85 students participated in the high school chamber ensembles on January 17th. The Alpha Flutes, Saxophones, 9/10 Brass, 11/12 Brass, and the Percussion Chamber Ensembles each received First Division ratings.  The Beta Flutes and the Clarinet Ensembles received a Second Division rating.

All events that received a First Division earned the privilege to perform at State Solo & Ensemble Festival on March 21, 2015 at Chippewa Valley High School. Those who are continuing on have persisted in practicing for the event. Good luck to them.
