Rambler’s Rise to Glory
October 23, 2014
The varsity football game on the 17th verses The Lancers was the last home game of this season. It started off with a farewell and thanks to the senior players and then got straight into the game.
Within the first four minutes of the game, the Ramblers had already scored the first touchdown backed up with a perfect punt by Matt Lentine. The Lansers attempted to catch up four minutes later by getting a touchdown, but their punt was too far to the left so they missed the extra point. By the end of the first quarter, the Ramblers were already up 6-14.
Senior Dominic Mielke scored a Rambler touchdown as soon as the second quarter started, and then scored another a few minutes later, changing the score to 6-28 Ramblers. With only two minutes left in the quarter, Mielke scored yet another touchdown, raising Fraser’s score even higher.
The Lansers got the ball again and the quarterback threw it to a teammate near the end zone. The teammate made a perfect catch, but within two seconds flat Ramblers Mainhardt and Roy Jr. had taken him down in an epic tackle. This save kept the second quarter score at 14-42 Ramblers.
The half time show consisted of a performance by The Fraser Marching Band and a special from students grades one through eight who had participated in the first annual Fraser Dance Camp.
Rambler Quarterback Dylan Walker broke us into the third quarter with another touchdown and held the score at 14-49 Ramblers for the rest of the quarter.
Rambler Dany Deim made an epic attempt to stop The Lansers from scoring, but they still succeeded in the last 11 seconds of the game. This made the end score 27-49 Ramblers.
Fraser’s next game is away on Friday the 24th, and if the Ramblers win they will earn a spot in the playoffs. So come on out to cheer them on!
