Fraser Tennis: Out of a Funk
September 19, 2014
Often times when one gets down, it takes awhile to rise back up. In tennis, one does not have that luxury of time. The longer one takes to get out of their funk, the more likely the game will be lost or a excellent shot is looked down upon because a part of the execution was not up to expectation.
Tuesday September 16, 2014, Fraser Boy’s Varsity Tennis Team went up against Warren Mott. First two to finish their games were one singles, Adam Culver, with a win of 6-1, 6-2, and one doubles, Mike Rodgers and Jordan Bell, with a win of 6-0, 6-0. When a tennis player wins 6-0, 6-0, they call it bageling the opponent: the ‘0’ the opponent gets is like a bagel.
However, other boys on the team had a difficult time keeping their energy up. From having high expectation and not receiving it to loosing and not getting their momentum back. Hopefully the negative attitude dissipates and positive energy comes in.
The boys won their meet 6-2, making their MAC Blue score 4-0-0. Congrats guys! Don’t forget to get out of a funk quick!
