The Welkin is Fraser’s literary magazine. The magazine is a collection of art and writing excerpts from students across the art and creative writing programs. They have been selected for an Honorable Mention in the 2024 National Council of Teachers of English Recognizing Excellence Art and Literary Magazines (REALM). The magazine was recognized by the NCTE and is a big achievement for the magazine.

The NCTE REALM program tries to recognize successful literary magazines created by students with the support of their teachers. The current Welkin editor, Dawson Sarcona has been editor for majority of his time in high school. His efforts in creating the past few Welkin’s played a vital role in them accomplishing this achievement.

“It’s an honor to see my efforts, and the work of everyone who contributed art and writing to this magazine, recognized,” Sarcona said.

Overall, this achievement is a very big feat for The Welkin and will be a very memorable accomplishment for the students that worked to make this happen.
