Congratulations to the 5 vocal students from Fraser High School that competed in the Michigan School Vocal Music Association District 16 Solo and Ensemble Festival. This competition required the students to prepare two vocal pieces that were contrasting in nature with one of the selections being a foreign language. They were judged in several different ways, some of them being tonal beauty, breath control, musical elements, language elements, interpretation, and presentation. After being judged the highest score they could receive is a 30 Freshman Riahnna Johnson received a 24/30, Junior Audrey Kanne received a 29/30, Freshman Breyanne Stallman received a 29/30, Junior Audrey Steepe received a 24/30, and Sophomore Samantha Walzak received a 27/30. This means they all received 1st Division Ratings and all of them qualified to compete at the State Solo and Ensemble Festival in March.
